Telegram Open Network connection is added to the travel booking website Travala

  • Users of the Telegram Open Network can now book travel, lodging, and tours in more than 230 countries with their tokens.

The Telegram Open Network has integrated with Travala, an innovative crypto-native travel booking company, enabling Toncoin (TON) holders to book hotels, flights, and travel tours with their tokens.

Blockchain applications in the travel sector: innovative uses

New solutions from the blockchain and digital asset sectors are developing to give better client experiences and improved financial efficiencies as the travel industry strives to adapt to the digital age.

Sleap, a travel booking platform driven by artificial intelligence (AI), announced in 2023 that it was partnering with Camino Network, a layer-1 blockchain system designed for the airline sector.

In addition to using the architecture of the Camino network to make deals directly in-wallet for clients and customize travel bookings for them, the partnership hopes to establish a common messaging platform for lodging providers, airlines, and local tour operators.

Japan Airlines most recently announced the beginning of the Kyoko nonfungible token (NFT) project in February. Holders of the NFT collection have exclusive access to distinctive Japanese travel experiences that aren’t offered by well-known travel agencies and tour operators.

A 400-year-old Samurai family welcomes holders of one of the NFTs to stay with them for two days and one night in a historic Samurai mansion. At the Tanegashima Space Art Festival, holders of another Kyoko NFT have the chance to collaborate with Japanese light artist Yasuhiro Chida to develop and exhibit artwork. Additionally, the earnings from the joint artwork will be distributed to the holders of this NFT.

Through the use of blockchain technology, initiatives like GroundSync are also working to cut down on expensive airline delays by recording every step of a commercial jet’s maintenance and refueling procedures in between flights. This will boost the profit margins damaged by communication delays and redundancies while drastically cutting down on runway turnaround time.
