- On Solana, millions of spam transactions are increasing Raydium’s revenue from fees.
In terms of weekly fees, Raydium, the top decentralized exchange (DEX) on Solana, just beat Uniswap and handled more than ten times as many transactions as Ethereum’s biggest DEX.
Raydium’s fees for the past week exceeded Uniswaps’ by 15%, resulting in the DEX collecting $12.86 million. According to Dapp Radar, in the same timeframe, Raydium processed almost 57 million transactions, whereas Uniswap v2 and v3 combined processed 4.47 million.
Even with the significant difference in the number of transactions, Uniswap’s overall volume is still greater than Raydium’s. Raydium’s weekly volume, at $5.39 billion according to DeFiLlama, was less than half of Uniswap’s, which accounted for around $12 billion.
The significant disparity between Uniswap and Raydium’s volume to transaction count ratios is a sign of the high volume of low-value spam transactions occurring on the Solana-based DEX.
