Mo Shaikh, the CEO and co-founder of Aptos Labs, has left the role to embark on a new journey.
To guide the company into its next phase of growth, co-founder and CTO Avery Ching will assume the role of CEO. In order to strengthen the Aptos ecosystem, Ching will prioritize technology innovation and faster shipping of new products, an Aptos Labs official said.

Building businesses from the ground up is one of my real interests, and at Aptos Labs, we have accomplished this by assembling a top-tier team. I have complete faith in the team as I depart Aptos Labs, and I am confident that Aptos Labs’ skill and ambition will soon realize our shared vision.
Shaikh was a party to a now-resolved litigation in 2022 about a purported conspiracy to deny firm stock to an early-stage investor.
The Layer 1 blockchain Aptos is being developed by Aptos Labs, a blockchain company. Michael Sonnenshein, the former CEO of Grayscale Investments, and Kevin Weil, the chief product officer of OpenAI, joined the firm’s advisory board in November.
