Dogecoin-related Shiba Inu photo rights purchased by DAO, resulting in doge memes

  • The famous picture of Shiba Inu Kabosu, which has inspired numerous well-known memes that are well-liked in the cryptocurrency community, was acquired by a DAO named Own the Doge.
  • The amount the group paid to obtain the image was kept a secret.

The rights to the Shiba Inu image connected to Dogecoin and the doge meme have been acquired by a group of meme-loving cryptocurrency internet users.

According to the co-leaders of Own the Doge, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), the dog’s owner sold the group the rights to the iconic photo of 18-year-old Shiba Inu Kabosu.

According to meme database KnowYourMeme, the picture of the perplexed dog resting on a couch became popular in the cryptocurrency community and served as the inspiration for a meme known as “doge,” which shows the dog surrounded by multicolored text fragments that appear to be parts of an interior monologue.

According to the DAOs leaders, the group thinks that their acquisition would grant it exclusive licensing rights over the image, enabling it to negotiate profitable agreements with companies looking to produce doge-themed items in an effort to cash in on the image’s growing popularity.

“I believe that this agreement clarifies a lot of things for businesses, where copyright is a source of uncertainty,” Own the Doge project manager Tridog stated to the newspaper.

The amount that Own the Doge paid to obtain the Shiba Inu photograph was kept a secret.
