- Zerion’s Layer 2 rollup project, ZERO Network, now has a testnet available.
- ZK Stack, a software package from ZKSync, was used to construct the testnet.
Zerion, a provider of cryptocurrency wallets, has started testing the ZERO Network, its next Layer 2 rollup.
The testnet will be a part of the growing ZKSync ecosystem, which also includes initiatives like Lens Protocol, GRVT, and Cronos zkEVM. It was constructed using ZKSync’s software package, ZK Stack. Later in the year is when the ZERO mainnet will launch.
1inch, Philand, and Dodo Finance are among the partners getting ready to debut on the mainnet after deploying on the ZERO testnet. According to the team, builders in the ZERO ecosystem will receive full support, which includes free API credits and top billing in the Zerion Wallet.
Zerion has also implemented a spam protection technology called Onchain DNA, which distinguishes genuine users from bots, in order to handle any potential spam and abuse that can result from the lack of gas prices. Onchain DNA will be made available as open-source software so that anyone on the network can use and improve it.
Co-founder and CEO of Zerion Evgeny Yurtaev states, “Building ZERO Network with the ZK Stack gives us compatibility within the EVM ecosystem, scalability through zero-knowledge proofs, and an enhanced wallet experience through account abstraction for our users.”
On this ZK rollup network, users will be able to pay network costs with any token, making it practically gasless for them. To make this happen, Zerion has developed a unique paymaster contract that will pay transaction fees for users of its wallet.
According to Zerion’s earlier statements, fee subsidies will be a one-time expense for the business and will decrease if transaction fees increase. Through the network dapps, consumers will also be able to sponsor transaction expenses.
