- Uplink is a decentralized internet connectivity network that encourages the development of additional internet in underconnected areas while enabling users to share their current internet.
On the Layer 1 blockchain Avalanche, the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) platform Uplink has gone live.
Uplink, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) platform, is the first DePIN project on the Layer 1 blockchain. It was launched on Avalanche.
By providing incentives for users to share current networks and establishing new infrastructure in underserved areas, Uplink seeks to decentralize internet connectivity. Through community involvement, token-based incentives, and cutting-edge application features, Uplink aims to advance its ecosystem and promote decentralized connectivity by utilizing Avalanche’s high-speed transaction capabilities.
Uplink CEO Carlos Lei stated that the company plans to achieve significant milestones in the upcoming year, including the release of the Uplink App, which will verify router locations and enable users to share real internet connectivity, in the wake of this Avalanche launch.
In addition, the app will have ground-breaking capabilities that we are currently keeping secret but that promise to revolutionize how users interact with and profit from decentralized connection. We will simultaneously launch our Layer 1 testnet on Avalanche, which is intended to support important community initiatives pertaining to the provision and use of connection. The launch of our on-platform token, which will facilitate international data consumption and transactions within the Uplink ecosystem, will also be made possible by this project.
Uplink has received an undisclosed investment from the venture capital firm Blizzard, which funds initiatives based on the Avalanche blockchain. Earlier this year, Framework Ventures led Uplink in raising $10 million in fundraising.
