Union Labs Plans Polygon-to-Cosmos Bridge with AggLayer Integration

  • The integration between Union Labs and AggLayer signifies a significant step towards enhancing blockchain interoperability.
  • By connecting Polygon, a major Ethereum scaling network, with the Cosmos blockchain ecosystem through its Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC), Union Labs aims to address the siloed nature of blockchains.

Union Labs, a blockchain interoperability project, is set to integrate its technology with AggLayer, a decentralized service launched by Polygon Labs earlier this year. AggLayer allows for sharing liquidity among connected networks, which could forge stronger links between Polygon, one of the largest Ethereum scaling networks, and the Cosmos blockchain ecosystem.

The collaboration will facilitate enhanced liquidity access and seamless movement between AggLayer-connected chains and IBC-enabled chains, ensuring a trustless and efficient process with low latency. This connection represents a step towards overcoming the isolated nature of blockchains while maintaining their individual sovereignty.

Karel Kubat, founder of Union Labs, emphasized that this partnership demonstrates both projects’ dedication to tackling the fragmentation of blockchains. Union Labs announced in November that it had raised $4 million, and the company plans to launch its mainnet later this year.

A Step Toward Enhanced Blockchain Interoperability

Union Labs’ integration with AggLayer demonstrates a commitment to strengthening ties between prominent blockchain ecosystems such as Polygon and Cosmos. This partnership lays the groundwork for improved liquidity access and efficient movement across different networks. As Union Labs prepares for its mainnet launch later this year, its collaboration with AggLayer sets the stage for significant advancements in blockchain interoperability and overall ecosystem connectivity.
