  • On April 25, CryptoPunk #635 sold for 4,000 ETH, or $12.41 million.
  • This is the third most expensive CryptoPunk sale to take place in 2024 and the sixth most expensive auction overall.

On Thursday, the sixth-most costly CryptoPunk NFT sale took place.

According to the CryptoPunks sales page, CryptoPunk #635 sold for 4,000 ETH, or $12.41 million, on April 25. The seller had, astonishingly, settled for less than what had been first proposed.

Someone placed a bid on March 5 for 4,440 ETH, which was worth a total of $16.38 million at the time, before withdrawing it on April 22.

In the 10,000-piece collection, this NFT is one of just nine “AlienPunks,” making it unique. It also has the somewhat uncommon attributes of regular shades and a bandana.

The sale of CryptoPunk #635 is the third most expensive CryptoPunk sale of the year, following the sales of CryptoPunk #7804 for 4,850 ETH, or $16.42 million, on March 20 and CryptoPunk #3100 for 4,500 ETH, or $16.4 million, on March 4.

As its rivals collapsed this year, CryptoPunk largely kept its high floor price, according to The Block’s Data Dashboard. The price of the floor at Bored Ape Yacht Club plummeted to roughly 12.2 ETH ($38,000), whereas the floor at CryptoPunks is currently at roughly 38 ETH ($118,400).
