With a campaign centered around social media influencers, AI Arena let 8,000 players to play its unique brawler game—built on Ethereum layer-2 scaling network, Arbitrum—while it was still in pre-release earlier this year for the chance to win potential token rewards. Those benefits are now only a short distance away.
AI Arena is a cartoonish fighting game where players use artificial intelligence (AI) to control their characters, similar to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. This is the game’s special hook: Instead of pressing buttons like in previous fighting games, you take on the role of the fighter’s coach and work to win through intensive AI-driven training.
The last phase of the “Gateway of the Arena” play-to-airdrop campaign came to an end in March. By offering token incentives for playing the pre-release game, this competition aimed to draw players.
The performance of the 8,000 participating gamers’ AI warriors determined their score. Every player was also a member of a team led by one of eight influencers, which included Wale and the alias YellowPanther. A potentially large airdrop multiplier was awarded to players based on the team’s overall performance.
The size of your airdrop bag depended on how successfully you, your AI, and your squad performed. AI Arena plans to airdrop 80 million NRN tokens in total, half of which will come via the play-to-airdrop campaign and the other half attached to NRN Boxes, which are incentive boxes connected to community involvement.
AI Arena intends to release a version in the future that will require an NFT access pass in order to play. With its distinct AI-driven fighting style, the game’s developer sees considerable esports potential, therefore this version will act as the elite testing ground for the best players.
