- Ten billion tokens will be distributed for phase 2 prizes, according to the Layer 2 network.
- A 12-month duration is anticipated for the second phase.
The creator of the NFT marketplace Blur, Blast, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, has revealed the specifics of the phase 2 user benefits.
The project said in a blog post that 10 billion tokens would be split between Blast Points and Blast Gold for the second round of user prizes, same as the first. 17 billion tokens were set aside by Blast for its initial wave of prizes, which began last week.
According to Blast’s post, Phase 2’s main goal is to encourage users to download mobile applications by using the Blast App to do so.
Five billion Blast tokens, or half of the awards from the second phase, will be reserved for Blast Points. The project states that users can accrue these points according on their balances in ETH, WETH, USDB, and BLAST.
According to the project, Blast Gold will receive an additional half of the benefits. Dapps’ success on Blast’s mainnet and in upcoming tournaments will determine which ones acquire Gold.
According to the project, the major goal of Phase 2 is to assist the development of the full-stack chain. It takes time to construct the initial infrastructure and help dapps in building new applications on top of that infrastructure, which is why the phase 2 airdrop is scheduled to extend for a full year.
Blast, created by Blur’s founder Tieshun Roquerre, launched in early access in November 2023. DefiLlama data shows that as of the time of writing, the total value locked on Blast was $1.36 billion, down from $2.3 billion on June 6.
