Zero-knowledge rollup Scroll now uses the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). According to a press release issued with The Block on Thursday, native access to CCIP would allow developers to create safe and innovative decentralized applications on Scroll while growing the multi-chain ecosystem.
Because Chainlink has the best shown track record of upholding the highest standards of security and dependability in the blockchain sector, Scroll chose CCIP as its preferred interoperability solution, according to the business.
With Chainlink’s CCIP, developers may create safe apps that facilitate messaging, token transfers, and action initiation between several blockchains. With the help of the protocol’s Programmable Token Transfers feature, smart contracts may transport tokens between chains in a single transaction and provide instructions on how to handle them when they get there.
Industry standard Chainlink CCIP is enhanced by Scroll’s integration, according to co-founder Sandy Peng, “by giving our developers scalable, secure, and flexible infrastructure, and enabling our builders to create even better cross-chain applications.” With its resilient architecture and level-5 security, CCIP fortifies Scroll’s cross-ecosystem compatibility in a highly secure manner without sacrificing user experience.
Using zero-knowledge proofs, Scroll is an Ethereum scaling method that improves Ethereum’s speed and capacity. By constructing a Layer 2 rollup network, Scroll increases responsiveness and accessibility while handling large numbers of users.
A release states that Chainlink Labs has enabled transactions totaling over $15 trillion. Earlier this year, collaborations with Chainlink were previously revealed by Taurus, Fidelity International, and cryptocurrency bank Sygnum.
According to Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, L2s like Scroll are crucial to the Ethereum ecosystem’s capacity to reduce congestion and boost overall efficiency. Scroll became a member of the Chainlink Scale program in August of last year, and in November, Chainlink Data Feeds became operational on Scroll. The logical next step in our collaborative efforts to advance our business is the exciting addition of CCIP for cross-chain enablement.
