Pump.fun hacker apparently detained in London; discusses controversy in X post

  • An X account linked to the exploiter and media reports both state that the person responsible for the $1.9 exploit of the meme coin marketplace Pump.fun has been taken into custody in London.
  • The exploiter sends a series of strange messages threatening the Pump.fun crew with additional legal action in exchange. He also claims to have been released on bond and is currently staying in a hospital.

According to media sources, the former employee who was identified by Solana-based memecoin launchpad Pump.fun as the individual responsible for the platform’s recent $1.9 million hack has been detained and freed on bail in the United Kingdom.

The exploiter, whose real name is apparently Jarrett Dunn and who goes by StaccOverflow on X, used flash loans and his admin powers on Pump.fun last Thursday to siphon off almost $2 million in liquidity from the platform.

Dunn, who has since addressed the situation, says he “spent overnight in custody as the pump team alleges I stole 2m of their Ill-gotten gains with conspiracy to steal another 80m.” This is according to a different X account.

In addition, Dunn urged British nationals to press charges against what he claimed to be the corporate body of Pump.fun.

Having been released on free bond, Dunn intends to stay in the United Kingdom prior to his August court-mandated appearance, according to texts exchanged with him using another X user. Using a “super restricted hospital iPad” as his access point to X, Dunn seems to be temporarily housed in a hospital.
