OpenSeason, the Ethereum game that resembles Fortnite, has revealed a token airdrop

  • In addition to receiving the airdrop, holders of Fractional Uprising NFTs will vote on future games that the OpenSeason developer makes.

OpenSeason’s developers, who created the crypto-themed battle royale shooting game based on Ethereum NFT access tickets, disclosed on Monday the specifics of the studio’s impending token airdrop to participants, revealing that it will take place this week.

A company blog post states that 62.1 million FU Money tokens have been set aside for this week’s initial airdrop, and that holders of Fractional Uprising Studios NFT membership passes—which are currently necessary to play OpenSeason—will automatically receive a portion of those tokens at some point this week.

That amount makes up ten percent of FU’s entire token supply. The distribution of these currencies will be dependent on the three wallet snapshots that have already been taken; the longer a user has held the membership pass, the more FU they will receive overall.

The Ethereum layer-2 scaling network, Arbitrum, will be the first platform to provide the token.

A long-term roadmap for the FU coin was unveiled on Monday by the Fractional Uprising Studios team, who also created the Fortnite-like OpenSeason, which is accessible through the Epic Games Store.

The remaining 90% of the token supply will be allocated as follows after this week’s airdrop: 30% will be set aside to be given out as community rewards over the next ten years, 20% will go to the studio team and have a six-month vesting schedule, 5% will go to a Uniswap liquidity pool, and the remaining 35% will be used to finance Fractional Uprising’s future projects.

A firm official said that the fund for future projects, or as Fractional Uprising refers to it, “FUture Productions,” will be managed by FU token holders and given out through grants or other incentive models for builders. For an entire year, the funds will be locked.

The precise structure of how the Fractional Uprising community will support upcoming initiatives is subject to change and will develop gradually, a spokeswoman for the organization said.

They said, “I think we will find out more about this as we go forward.” We therefore made the decision to lock for a year in order to give ourselves some time and experience with [OpenSeason] to determine the best course of action, without having to worry about it as much right now.

Membership NFT holders will still have plenty of opportunities to earn additional FU Money in the future after this week’s airdrop.

According to the game’s anonymous co-founder Krypticrooks, OpenSeason will become accessible to users with these invite links at some time in the upcoming months.

As the game expands over time, they view the incentive model as a means of enlisting NFT membership card holders as brand ambassadors.

According to Krypticrooks, the game passes will function similarly to an affiliate marketing tool, attracting players regardless of their familiarity with Web 3. No wallets, nothing at all.
