One million plush units have been sold in less than a year, according to Pudgy Penguins

  • In a video highlighting new retail agreements with Hot Topic, Target, and specialty shops worldwide, Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins, declared that over a million plush toys had been sold.

In a video uploaded on X, Pudgy Penguins, one of the top ten NFT collections by volume traded, revealed that it had sold more than a million plush toys through different merchants.

In the video, Luca Netz—a 10th-grade dropout and the CEO of Pudgy Penguins—discusses the most recent developments regarding the plush toy sales, revealing that more than a million had been sold in “just under a year.”

Netz also hinted at future collaborations with other stores, such as a Walmart restock as well as orders from Target, Smiths, Hot Topic, and specialty shops in Asia and other countries.

That’s my largest consumer product success to date in terms of units, according to Netz.

In contrast to other NFT projects that could still be having trouble attracting public interest, Netz stressed the project’s success. I’m really respectful of what other people are doing in the area, but a lot of that is based on what may happen in the future, Netz said. “This is taking place in real time right now; the small business owner was able to place this merchandise in some of the largest merchants worldwide.

An declaration of a burgeoning metaverse and the excitement surrounding Pudgy Penguins’ plush line earlier this year caused the project to momentarily surpass the Bored Ape Yacht Club in floor price. This year, the group intends to introduce its Pudgy World alpha on the zkSync Era blockchain.
