“Nyan Heroes,” a Solana game, is coming back with more play-to-airdrop rewards

  • The second play-to-airdrop season of the mecha shooter Nyan Heroes will begin next week when the servers are brought back online.

Nyan Heroes, a hero shooter that resembles Overwatch and was first tested in late March and early April as part of an early alpha trial, will restart its online servers the following week as part of a new play-to-airdrop campaign for the PC game available on the Epic Games Store.

On the Solana blockchain, Nyan Heroes is a team-based shooter featuring NFT assets and a forthcoming currency. May 8 is the date when its servers will return, and during the second pre-alpha demo playtest phase, players will have access to a new ranked mode.

Max Fu, the CEO and creative director of 9 Lives Interactive said that the playtest session is presently scheduled to finish on May 26 but that the company may decide to extend it.

The second season of Nyan Heroes’ play-to-airdrop campaign has begun in advance of the pre-alpha revival. This will broaden the range of incentives that players can earn and convert them into a portion of the game’s eventual Solana NYAN token airdrop.

Before, players could obtain MEOW points for finishing a variety of recurring in-game objectives. These activities included reaching milestones such as finishing a set number of matches or killing enemies.

The play-to-airdrop campaign, which multiplies players’ airdrop allocations and awards for gameplay success, will also include CATNIP points in season two. Alongside MEOW, CATNIP will continue to be included in the game in upcoming seasons.

During the first season of gameplay, players could already earn CATNIP; however, the rewards feature was not yet operational. The second season will see the accumulation of those points, which will be taken into account while allocating airdrops.

Through the play-to-airdrop dashboard of Nyan Heroes, CATNIP can also be obtained for social media participation outside of the game.

According to the studio, Nyan Heroes has received over 200,000 downloads on the Epic Games Store so far, and during the first pre-alpha playtest phase, it reached a peak of over 45,000 daily active users. Based on its data, the company claims that 20% of users were “Web2 players,” indicating a potential mainstream crossover with the more established player base of the Epic Games Store.
