- The developers of NFT Worlds have released HYTOPIA, a voxel-based gaming platform.
- On the two active servers, NFT holders of Gray Boys, Avatars, and HYTOPIA Worlds can now test the game.
The major objective of this beta test is to guarantee hardware compatibility and improve the gaming experience for future players, even if the game is still in production and attempts are being made to make frequent updates and fast changes.
NFT holders can now download the initial game client build and play early through the closed beta.
HYTOPIA: What is it?
HYTOPIA started out as a collection of 10,000 modifiable virtual worlds and has since grown to include $TOPIA, the native coin, and its own blockchain, HYCHAIN.
HYTOPIA, which was first introduced as NFT Worlds on Minecraft, experienced a major rebranding and makeover following the acquisition of $3 million in funding from Delphi Digital and Delphi Ventures.
With a toolkit for developers to construct games in a voxel-like environment, integrated web3 elements, tools for world builders permitting the optional use of the $TOPIA token, and play-and-earn features, the ecosystem is aimed to provide users social and modern gaming capabilities.
How may owners of NFTs take part in the closed beta?
NFT holders must join the HYTOPIA Testers Discord channel, validate their ownership of NFTs using collab.land, and then obtain access in order to participate in the beta.
Because the current HYTOPIA client uses Minecraft servers for testing, participants also need to have an account there. The development team intends to keep compatibility with older Minecraft servers while launching HYTOPIA’s own servers in the future and doing away with the requirement for Minecraft accounts.
There are two servers in the closed beta:
- Battle Arena Avatars: In a cramped arena, this server offers a 20 against. 20 battle royale.
- Teams of up to 20 players can organize on the faction-based PvP server Gray Boys Factions in order to raid and fight for dominance.
Weekly updates for the game client will be released by HYTOPIA along with notes describing the changes. Future updates will include the addition of other elements that are still under development, like NPC behaviors, player animations, and sound effects.
