Venture firms Variant and Polychain Capital led a $12 million Series A fundraising round for the web3 AI cloud company Hyperbolic, increasing its total capital to $20 million.

Chapter One, Lightspeed Faction, IOSG, Vertex, GSR, Wintermute Ventures, Blockchain Builders Fund, Alumni Ventures, and Ambush were among the other investors in the round.

Hyperbolic provides open access to AI infrastructure and services by combining a decentralized network of GPU power and using blockchain technology to guarantee security and authenticity. In addition to creating and eventually releasing its own blockchain, the company plans to utilize the money to strengthen its engineering and other interdisciplinary teams.
