An ID service that is native to the Gnosis Chain, Genome is a digital ID that has been launched by Gnosis, a blockchain infrastructure initiative that promotes radical inclusivity.
Developed in cooperation with Web3 domain and identity platform SpaceID and Web3 messaging protocol dm3, Genome allows users to translate their lengthy, technical wallet addresses into human-readable names, making it easier to send and receive transactions and communicate within the Gnosis ecosystem.
Ownership of both.GNO and.gnosis.eth names is automatically granted to users by Genome, enabling a smooth and consistent user experience within Gnosis across blockchains that are compatible with Ethereum virtual machines.
With service synchronization across Gnosis dApps, communities, and social networks, users can access multiple services with a single login and identity. Additionally, Genome is completely compatible with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), allowing users to simultaneously claim ownership of two domain names.
The resolver allows one to be the extension of the other on a different chain by pairing the.gno domain on the Gnosis Chain with a matching subdomain on Ethereum.
Off-chain resolution, which points to an off-chain server and then to the smart contracts on Gnosis Chain, sending the information back to Ethereum, and CCIP L2 (cross-chain interoperability) make this possible.
Genome’s introduction is in line with Gnosis’ goal of promoting inclusivity through open, accessible infrastructure. The public can now register for a.gno or.gnosis.eth username thanks to the project.
