The project’s DAO declared on Wednesday that Treasure, the web3 gaming ecosystem that recently decided to switch to ZKsync, had gone live on the mainnet.
This launch represents one of the biggest crypto ecosystem migrations. From its current ecosystem on Arbitrum to its new home on ZKsync, Treasure is moving more than 15 games, important assets like ERC-20 tokens, and hundreds of millions of NFTs. This transfer takes place at the same time as a number of significant token generating events and network game launches.
Treasure’s native token is called MAGIC. The network’s backbone, the MAGIC token, facilitates governance, commerce, and the economy as a whole. Participants in DAO use it for governance votes.
As the most recent project to change its plans to build on a new blockchain, the move demonstrates how different Ethereum Layer 2s are creating unique ecosystems by providing unique technological and cultural features that could help certain projects and communities.
Members of the Treasure DAO approved the switch from Arbitrum Orbit to ZKsync in September. According to the suggestion, ZKsync was more “suited” to Treasure’s long-term goals in decentralized gaming. Matter Labs developed ZKsync, a Layer-2 scalability solution for Ethereum that processes transactions via “zero-knowledge rollups.”
Treasure is launching its ‘Decentralized Entertainment System: Cartridges’ campaign to celebrate the launch, which will include free commemorative NFT mints based on its collection of titles that draw inspiration from vintage gaming systems. A fresh cartridge will be accessible every day to be minted and collected on Treasure for a while after its launch.
Treasure describes itself as a decentralized gaming console and was founded in 2021. Among the web3 games available in the ecosystem are “The Beacon,” “Zeeverse,” “Wanderers,” and “Smolbound.”
