Ethereum Layer-3 Gaming Chain Revealed by Aavegotchi Studio for Members Only

  • Geist was developed using Ethereum technology from Base, Alchemy, and Arbitrum with the goal of addressing issues with cryptocurrency games and providing unique advantages.

Pixelcraft Studios, the firm behind the cryptocurrency game Aavegotchi, announced on Thursday that it planned to launch Geist, an Ethereum layer-3 gaming blockchain that would be available only to members.

Geist is built to get over a number of challenges that the existing crypto gaming scene has, such as significant player turnover and a propensity for “botting,” which is the manipulation of rewards programs. Geist is powered by many Ethereum scaling technologies.

Geist is our answer to the demand for a more reliable and inventive gaming blockchain, according to a statement from Pixelcraft CEO Coderdan, who goes by alias. Geist’s unique and lucrative ecosystem raises the bar for cryptocurrency gaming and guarantees a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

It’s interesting to note that Geist will be developed utilizing many Ethereum scaling technologies, including Coinbase’s Base network for settlement and Arbitrum’s Orbit technology. Alchemy, a blockchain development platform, is likewise enhancing the network.

A tweet thread claims that gamers would be able to join the network by meeting specific requirements, such having an Aavegotchi NFT, after which they will need to “pay the dues” in order to become a member. A seven-day free trial is offered to invitees, but membership demands continuous payments at the conclusion of each cycle.

On the other hand, users who had Aavegotchi NFTs before to the announcement will be “eligible for a free membership,” with further information to follow.

Geist will be permissioned, meaning that its developers will be able to decide which teams are allowed to build on the chain, much like competing Ethereum gaming networks Ronin and Xai. The website claims to provide a hand-picked collection of games that have been approved by AavegotchiDAO or Pixelcraft Studios.

Aavegotchi Baazaar, an NFT marketplace, seamless game integration, exclusive rewards like badges and loot boxes, and technological prowess like gasless transaction support and a native on-chain random number generator are some of the Geist platform’s most important features. The native token of the network will be GHST from Aavegotchi.

According to a release, the network also hopes to provide users the chance to stake their coins in the future to receive a share of marketplace and sequencer fees. Geist intends to use significant exchanges to provide simple ETH and GHST onramps in order to encourage user involvement.

Although a release states that Geist is anticipated to launch in the upcoming months, no precise launch date was given. A testnet rollout will take place ahead of the final mainnet launch.
