Investors can place bets on how the U.S. election session will impact the cryptocurrency markets with Deribit’s debut of bitcoin and ether options, which expire in early November.

We have chosen to introduce the 8 November 2024 options expiry ahead of the scheduled introduction time due to customer demand, Deribit stated on X. The early introduction is intended to give our clients the ability to speculate, hedge, and more in preparation for the US elections on November 5.

On Thursday, July 18, the trading products will be operational.

One of the most popular sites for trading cryptocurrency derivatives is Deribit. According to CoinGecko, in the last day, it observed over $2 billion in open interest across its perpetuals and futures markets. With 70% ($35.7 billion) of the $51.1 billion in bitcoin options trading volume in April, the exchange has led the market since 2020.

People all over the world may now place bets on the U.S. election season thanks to a variety of blockchain-based betting alternatives, of which the election possibilities are only the most recent.
