- The well-liked web3 game Axie Infinity, created by Sky Mavis, has introduced the Axie Governance Portal and Axie Score, giving users a way to actively engage in the game’s decision-making processes.
- Now, users can stake $AXS tokens and vote on significant ideas that influence Axie Infinity’s destiny by connecting their Ronin Wallets.
A hard fork on the Ronin network is the initial proposal (AIP-001), which aims to enable enhanced delegation of Axie assets. Infrastructure improvements are also included in this proposal to enable future upgrades without requiring more hard forks.
Players must stake their $AXS tokens prior to a snapshot being taken on May 20 at 1:00 AM UTC in order to participate in the voting for AIP-001, which begins on May 20 and ends on May 27.
Additional Contributions Comparable Greater Ability to Vote
The new Axie Score, a point system intended to represent a player’s contributions to the Axie Infinity community, is a complement to the Governance Portal. Four primary categories are used to calculate the initial pre-release version:
- Performance in-game: Shows a player’s actions and accomplishments while playing the game.
- Contributions to the Treasury: Contains actions like Axie part evolution and Axie release that bring in money for the Axie Community Treasury.
- Community Contributions: Indicates how much a player contributes to the Axie community and how involved they are.
- Axie NFT Holdings: Counts the variety and quantity of Axie-related property (such as land, Axies, etc.) that a player possesses.
The Governance Portal allows users to cast votes based on their Axie Score. Up until the snapshot on May 20, when voting power will be limited for the length of the vote, the score is updated in real-time. Players will have the opportunity to check in and view the results at the conclusion of the voting period.
Players are invited to join the Contributor Program and share their thoughts with the Axie Infinity team in order to help shape the future development of these tools. The team is dedicated to improving both the Axie Score and the Governance Portal based on community feedback.
