Avatar of “Resistance Dog” meme coin is adopted by several developers in support of Pavel Durov; token increases 140%

  • On Monday, the price of the meme coin “Resistance Dog” surged by more than 140%.
  • This spike occurred after the developers announced it as the official Toncoin avatar on several community channels.

The biggest meme coin on the Ton blockchain, “Resistance Dog” (REDO), saw a market surge of more than 140% when its developers designated it as the official Toncoin avatar across many community channels.

Ton creators launched this as part of a larger plan to use the meme coin’s avatar in line with the “DigitalResistance” campaign. The former Ton blockchain logo has been replaced with an avatar that is a white cartoon dog wearing a hood.

Adopting the “Resistance Dog” avatar on sites like the official Telegram channel and X account, according to the core team, is a way to support it. The action was taken in response to Pavel Durov’s weekend detention in France. Durov is a prominent member of the Ton blockchain and the founder of Telegram.

The team declared on Monday that Toncoin’s logo and profile images across TON Community channels would henceforth feature the Resistance Dog, the universal symbol of Digital Resistance, in support of Digital Resistance.

According to Dexscreener data, the token increased in value by over 140% on Monday after the announcement. It went from $0.35 to over $0.85 before settling back to $0.63 at the time of writing. The market capitalization of the token is now $65 million.
