- By rewarding early contributors and giving away 23.8% of the tokens directly to the community and creators, the LayerZero token airdrop regulations were revealed.
- Tight anti-Sybil measures may expose suspected attackers’ wallets to the public and exclude or partially reward them.
The CEO of LayerZero Labs, Bryan Pellegrino, recently released the final regulations for the planned airdrop.
Rules for the LayerZero Token Airdrop Are Known
Early participants will receive substantial incentives from the LayerZero token airdrop, which will treble rewards for first-time transactions.
In addition, an additional 50 tokens will be awarded to those who complete at least three transactions in the latter phases. The LayerZero token airdrop is expected to benefit 594,641 people in total, with the majority receiving between 50 and 250 tokens.
It is now clear how LayerZero (ZRO) tokens will be distributed: instead of going through platform and development allocations, the community and builders will receive 23.8% of the total supply.
This direct approach seeks to promote engagement and progress within the community.
LayerZero has taken strong action against Sybil attacks by putting in place strict protections. The option to confess and earn 15% of the anticipated airdrop is presented to suspected Sybil attackers; otherwise, they run the risk of being completely excluded and having their wallet addresses made public.
Success of Funding and Airdrop Issues
Because of its novel protocol, which connects several blockchains without the need for middlemen, LayerZero is well-known.
It is now in use by Radiant Capital and Stargate, both of which saw a minor boost in their native token counts after the approved snapshot.
In April of last year, LayerZero raised $120 million in a Series B fundraising round, with notable commitments from Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.
The company’s $3 billion valuation from this investment round strengthened its position in the market.
Looking ahead, ZK Nation has clarified the disputed airdrop that zkSync is planning for June 17. The community has reacted negatively to EigenLayer and zkSync due to issues with distribution equity and airdrop requirements.
The community’s opinion of these airdrops has been further tarnished by the ongoing problem of Sybil attacks.
