- The Mocaverse will host 40-player go-kart racing in Cosmic Royale, where community members may earn points toward upcoming MOCA airdrops.
A new blockchain-based kart racing game called Cosmic Royale is being developed by Eden Games, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, and it will be linked to the Mocaverse on-chain identity and community platform.
Released in the fourth quarter of this year, the Mario Kart-inspired racing game will be a part of Animoca’s Motorverse gaming ecosystem, which also includes titles like MotoGP Ignition, Torque Drift 2, and REVV Racing.
40-player matches featuring numerous racing rounds and a survival-themed conclusion are featured in Cosmic Royale. The game will function as the experimental gaming platform for Mocaverse’s new social gamification initiative, Cosmic Club. Alongside the original characters, the first teaser features avatars from the NFT profile picture (PFP) projects Cool Cats and the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
According to a press statement from Eden Games Creative Director David Nadal, “Thanks to our collaboration with various PFP collections, each player can truly personalize their experience by importing their custom drivers and karts, making each racer’s story unique and memorable.”
Beginning on July 24, Moca NFT and Moca ID owners will be able to participate in a limited-access beta test of Cosmic Royale. By participating, these players can gain Realm Points (RP), which could entitle them to a MOCA Coin airdrop in the future.
With the platform’s inaugural airdrop, the Mocaverse MOCA token debuted last week, and its price above $0.11 propelled the Ethereum token to a current market capitalization of $127 million.
The full version of Cosmic Royale will be playable for free through the Epic Games Store, however the beta version is only accessible to specific NFT and ID holders. The racing games that Eden Games is most recognized for creating in the past include Test Drive Unlimited and Gear.Club.
