Adidas and Stepn, a cryptocurrency exercise app, are partnering to release NFTs and merchandise

  • Stepn and Adidas will launch their collaboration with an NFT collection.
  • Physical goods are also anticipated, according to Stepn.

Stepn, a fitness app founded in Solana, announced on Monday that it is partnering with shoe and sportswear giant Adidas.

The Stepn x Adidas Genesis Sneakers collection, a batch of 1,000 NFTs, will be the first product of the alliance. Based on some of Adidas’s “most iconic running silhouettes,” an official statement was released.

According to a statement from Stepn, this genesis collection is the first in a series of co-branded activities between Stepn and Adidas over the course of a one-year relationship. Upcoming NFT drops and tangible, wearable things are also planned.

Later this week, on April 17, the NFT collection is expected to be live on Mooar, Stepn’s sibling non-fungible token marketplace.

Adidas has already partnered with Coinbase, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Bugatti on web3 projects connected to cryptocurrencies.

Stepn is a web3 application that offers cryptocurrency prizes to users that walk or run. Stepn, which claims to have 5 million registered members, has collaborated with shoe brands before. This is not the first time. Stepn and Asics teamed in 2022.

“The direction lifestyle rewards are going is indicated by the fact that the most popular lifestyle app and a global brand like Adidas have partnered to create a physical and digital, or “phygital,” partnership,” stated Stepn CEO Shiti Manghani in a statement from the firm.

Stepn gave away bonus points worth $30 million in GMT tokens via airdrop last week.
