According to reports, Craig Wright, who has claimed to be the anonymous founder of Bitcoin, was found guilty of contempt of court and given a two-year prison sentence.

Several news outlets reported that the Australian computer scientist was given a 12-month term and a two-year suspension on Thursday. This comes after Wright filed an intellectual property “legal claim” worth £900 billion. The contempt of court action was started by the claim.

According to The Guardian, Wright, who made an appearance via video link, refused to disclose his physical location but stated that he will file an appeal.

A U.K. judge declared in March that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. In an effort to prevent Wright from claiming copyright over the Bitcoin whitepaper and database, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance, or COPA, initially filed a lawsuit against him in April. Adam Back, the creator of Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus algorithm, was one of two important individuals who testified during the trial.

As per Arkham, Nakamoto might possess as much as 1.1 million bitcoin. This occurs while the price of bitcoin has risen to a record high of $106,000 in the last month.
